Coulee Region Tobacco Free Partnership

The Coulee Region Tobacco Free Partnership is a tobacco prevention coalition formed by three Wisconsin Counties: La Crosse, Jackson, and Monroe. We work to achieve the following vision and mission.

Vision

Communities empowered to live tobacco and nicotine free.

Mission
Promoting tobacco and nicotine-free living in La Crosse, Jackson, and Monroe Counties through education, advocacy, and outreach for all.

The partnership is funded by the Commercial Tobacco Prevention and Treatment Program at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

What We Do

Decrease youth access and initiationFACT

  • We conduct tobacco compliance checks, provide retailer education and training, connect with the media, and educate the community through the WI Wins program
  • We work with schools to assess and improve their tobacco-free policies
  • We promote FACT, Wisconsin's youth-led tobacco prevention and control program
  • We educate parents, youth leaders, students, and other community members about tobacco-related topics through events and presentations

Increase cessation services

  • We strive to increase opportunities to quit tobacco and nicotine use
  • We promote the Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line and other quit tobacco resources:

Increase Smoke-free air

    • We promote and support smoke-free and vape-free environments including:
      • Workplaces
      • Beaches and parks
      • College campuses
      • Schools
      • Sidewalks
      • Sports fields and facilities
    • We educate local and state leaders about smoke-free air policies as well as other ways to lessen the harms of tobacco on our citizens

The word "tobacco" on this page refers to commercial tobacco, not traditional Native American tobacco or sacred tobacco. Sacred tobacco is used as a medicine for healing; offerings to the creator; and spiritual gifts to express gratitude, show respect, and ask for prayers or advice.

Community connectedness and engagement is important to us. If you're interested in joining our coalition or receiving our quarterly newsletter, email us at Healthweb@lacrossecounty.org
