Reporting an Illness Caused by Food or Water:

Reporting an Environmental Health Concern:

Call the La Crosse County Health Department Environmental Section at 608-785-9771 or email [email protected] to report any of the following issues:

• Foodborne illness
• Restaurant or retail food establishment
• Food issue
• Public swimming pool/whirlpool
• Lodging conditions
• Tattoo or body art establishments
• Septic system issue
• Air quality problem
• Mold
• Pests
• Unsanitary living conditions
• Animal bites

Reporting a Notifiable or Reportable Health Condition:

Call the La Crosse County Health Department Main Line at 608-785-9872 or email [email protected] to report any of the following health conditions:

Reportable Disease Lists:

• Category I:  These are of URGENT public health importance and should be reported IMMEDIATELY by telephone to the patient’s local health department.
• Category II and Category III: These diseases should be reported within 72 hours of diagnosis.
