Community Office Hours allows Veterans to access the services our office provides at different locations throughout the county! No appointments needed at Community Office Hours. Community News & Event Announcements:

-The Onalaska Public Library is hosting their 7th Annual Senior Fair at the Onalaska Omni Center from 10am-Noon on Wednesday, May 13th, 2026. This event is a finale to their weekly program series called Senior Moments where they learn about the resources and volunteer opportunities within our community.

- La Crosse County Aging and Disability Resource Center is hosting a Community Picnic on Wednesday, May 20th from 11am-3pm at the Veteran's Memorial Park in West Salem! This picnic is in recognition of Older Americans Month. Join us for this year's theme, Champion Your Health, focusing on prevention, wellness, self-advocacy, and empowerment in taking an active role in managing your health and independence.

-The next Veteran Services Commission meeting is on Monday, May 18th. All applications for emergency assistance will be due on Wednesday, May 13th. For an application or more information, contact the La Crosse CVSO at 608-785-9719.

-Interested in getting a family membership at the YMCA? Sign up for Wellness Warriors (not an exercise class) at the Dahl Family YMCA! The next session will be from May 19-July 7 on Tuesdays from 10-11am at the Dahl YMCA. To sign up for this session, or to be on the waitlist for future sessions, fill out the online form at: Wellness Warriors | La Crosse Area Family YMCA

-The Tomah VA is starting a new group for Post 9/11 military to support readjustment and foster connections with fellow service members! The group alternates between Tomah VA Medical Center and La Crosse VA Clinic every Wednesday from 5-6pm. Please contact Tomah VA's Post 9/11 Military2VA staff with questions at 608-372-3971 or 800-872-8662 ext. 67709. - Hero's Cafe is held at the Village Festival Foods on the 2nd floor every Friday from 8am-10am. Veterans are free to attend and meet with other veterans over coffee and donuts!

-Meet with the Vietnam Era Veterans Group for coffee and conversation on Wednesdays from 10-11am at the Onalaska Legion.

-Meet with the Women Veterans Group for lunch (pay for your own) on the 1st Wednesday of each month at the Onalaska Legion from noon-1pm.

-Meet for the Coed Veterans Lunch (pay for your own) on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Onalaska Legion from noon-1pm.
