Hillview Building

Hillview Health Care Center is a 37-bed skilled nursing health care facility owned and operated by La Crosse County.  Hillview primarily focuses on those in need of rehabilitation and short stay care needs.  The Oaks is a 10 bed State Only nursing facility within Hillview serving those who have a diagnosis of dementia with underlying behavioral needs.  Please see The Oaks tab for more information.  

The residents and their families are our best ambassadors to the La Crosse community. With the help of these ambassadors, we have established a reputation on our campus for providing quality and compassionate care. Our staff take pride in building warm, trusting relationships with residents and families. We have the capacity to take care of those with higher needs, yet we don't lose sight of the importance and need to offer respect, emotional support and compassion.

The residents rate the food and social opportunities as outstanding. During the summer, many families and residents take advantage of our beautiful setting and enjoy our outside walking paths. Deer, ducks, geese, and many other animals are found on our campus.

CURRENT STATE of the Hillview Campus

CARROLL HEIGHTS:  55 Independent Living Apartments (4 story building) 

HILLVIEW TERRACE:  30 Residential Care Apartment Complex (RCAC-AL) (2 story building)

HILLVIEW NURSING HOME:  37 Skilled Nursing Facility beds- (SNF) (1 story building)

THE OAKS:  10 (SNF) beds-Certified by the State only.  Accepts private pay or family care (within Hillview 1 story building)

FUTURE STATE of the Hillview Campus

CARROLL HEIGHTS:  55 Independent Living Apartments (4 story building)

HILLVIEW TERRACE:  30 Residential Care Apartment Complex (RCAC) assisted living (2 story building)

HILLVIEW NURSING HOME:  26 Skilled Nursing Facility beds- (SNF) (1 story building)

THE OAKS:  10 (SNF) beds-Certified by the State only.  Accepts private pay or family care (within Hillview 1 story building)

THE EVERGREENS:  39 Suites licensed as a Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) assisted living (within Hillview). 4 of the 39 beds plans to serve as a stabilization for older adults with dementia who are in a crisis situation.

The LIFE CENTER within the same building will be an Intergenerational Day Program consisting of the YWCA Childcare Center and the ADRC initially supporting an Older Adult Day Program.  Both children and older adults coming together for a day filled with structured activities led by UWL's Recreation Therapy students.  YWCA will eventually take over managing both the Childcare and the Adult Day Program.

PARK LANE STUDIOS:  10 studio apartments serving as supportive housing, managed by Human Services through La Crosse County.
