Greetings to all of you at Lakeview Heath Care,

We want to thank you, all of you, those involved with the care, safety and well being of all the residents - all you nurses, nursing aids, therapists, and those you cook and serve AND those who clean all the rooms... the added responsbilities of wiping down every exposed surface.  What a job!  God Bless all of you.  You are a special treasure to those who can't care for themselves.  We remember each night in our prayers, those who are in hospitals and nursing centers and for those who care for them.

To the wonderful Lakeview team,

Words cannot even begin to express my gratitude at the amazing care you all provided to my mother during her stay at Lakeview.  The final year of her life was made so much better because of each and every on of you.  Always know that the work you do here matters.

He was extremely fortunate to have the staff at Lakeview Health Care to help guide him through his final year and the horrible disease Alzheimer's.  The care, love and understanding from ***** made them angels in his eyes and his family's eyes.

We want to give you a heartfelt thank you for all the care and love you gave to our mother.  Whenever we visited her, you were there to help us, inform us and share stories and observations. It was just like having family care for her.

When we are born our family is there to care for us as we cannot do it ourselves.  They are kind, aware and willing to do all that is necessary.  As Mom passed through the aging years and once again became dependent on those around her for her needs, you were the family that cared for her.  It was such a great comfort to know she was in such good hands.  We know that she was happy and appreciated all of you.  After her passing, you were there to comfort and help us through that phase too.

We know she is with God and know that the transition was made easier by all of you.

God gives us our talents. Our work is a gift back to Him.
On earth we receive paychecks. In heaven we receive crowns.
So many workers at Lakeview. So many holy deeds given.
A million crowns are waiting for all of you in heaven…gifts from God!
My thanks are not enough. The crowns will be more than enough!
Thank you for the care and love given to my Mother, and the care given to all residents.
Blessings to the hearts, minds, and bodies of every worker at Lakeview.

Thank you for your thoughtfulness and wads of sympathy as I deal with the difficult loss of my Mother. I appreciate what a great job Lakeview did in taking care of my Mom. There's peace in knowing my Mom is out of pain and in a better place!

From a resident’s family member
Good morning.  A week ago I was going to be asking you if it was OK to come on Thanksgiving Day and take (person’s name) to Perkins for our Thanksgiving dinner together.  What has happened since last Thursday is nothing short of a miracle in my eyes.  Instead, I would like to thank you and your staff for providing a “home” for (person’s name) these past years.  Little did I realize what a compassionate, kind, and supportive family you have at Ravenwood for your people until of late.  (And I apologize for not knowing this earlier.)  I pray that (person’s name) will be able to embrace this new journey she will start a little later today and be able to feel comfortable & safe at (a different facility).  (I went on line, and the place is beautiful!  The owner seems to have dedicated her life to help the elderly and the physically & mentally disabled.)  It will be more important than ever for family to be in close contact with her to help her with this transition.  I hope to be able to go get her on Thanksgiving and bring her to our house.  It has been 2 years since mom and (person’s name) have seen each other.  We will all be giving thanks that (person’s name) wish (and ours) to be closer to family has come true.
Again, thank you for everything.  Wishing you and your family a Blessed Thanksgiving!

It’s been a month now since my (person’s name) died, and of course the sadness still lingers. I do want to thank everyone who showed her kindness and gave her compassionate care.  The CNAs, nurses, recreation people and the cleaning ladies, by brief visits and greetings, maybe teasing her a bit to bring a smile to her face, getting her snacks or after supper treats, or assuring her she could go to bed at 8:00 in the bed with her Packer blanket.  All important things to her.
Also thank the ladies at check in booth who greeted me and encouraged my daily visits.
Thanks everyone.

Received from a resident’s brother---To the entire staff of Lakeview—Mountains of Thanks

For the wonderful care that (person’s name) received from the staff at Cedar Lane and the entire staff at Lakeview.  The care given to her during her nine (9) year residence was greatly appreciative. Thank you, and may God bless each and every one at Lakeview.

Received October 2014:

To the staff at Lakeview Health Center

On behalf of our family and myself, I want to express my gratitude for the loving care you provided (person’s name) over the past two and a half years.

Having been at the Center on a regular basis, I was able to observe first hand not only your care and compassion for (person’s name), but all the residents under your care. I was not born with an abundance of patience, but observing your actions has taught me what patience is and how it can affect people. Thank you for that.

I have gotten to know many of you on a first name basis and have shared many concerns and joys about our families. Those conversations have been a real blessing to me, as it has made the pain of the visits so much easier to handle.

Most people who have not experienced a loved one in a nursing home have no idea of what your job requires.  You are all special people who go about your job with a smile, patience, a kind word and an expertise for those under your care. You have been a real blessing to me and many other families.

Thank you for blessing us and may God bless each one of you.

Received June 2014:

When (person’s name) moved to Lakeview, I almost expected “miracles and I wanted everything to get “better” quickly; even though at (previous other health care facilities) he would just stay in bed with the curtains drawn, door closed, no TV or communication with the staff.

Looking back now, I realize how far (person’s name) had progressed with the patience and care received by the staff; if it was the encouragement to get his mustache trimmed to a long overdue haircut and shave, to notice that he was not able to see as well as he should with his new glasses, or to ask him to attend activities or just to talk to him.

(Person’s name) had made a huge turn-around from the time he had moved into Lakeview until his unexpected death.

(Person’s name) told me that the staff always said hi to him, even though he didn’t know who they were and he also mentioned that everyone was very friendly and that the place was so clean.

(We) want to thank you and your staff from the bottom of our heart for what you did for (person’s name).  I know in my heart that he had good place to live in his last few months on this earth.

Thank you from a resident’s family member:

I have a developmentally disabled sister, who was born in 1934.  In 1970, when she could no longer be taken care of at home, she was admitted to Lakeview Health Center.  At that time, this was the only option available to her. She lived there for over 35 years and in all those years she received excellent and compassionate care.  I wish to thank the County of La Crosse and the County Board for all the years Lakeview Health Center has been available to care for those who could not care for themselves.  I know that in the past, there have been questions about such county facilities and taxpayer support of them.  The health care system has greatly improved over the years and now other options may be available, but for those who need its services, it is invaluable. So, I wish to express my great appreciation for Lakeview Health Center and my gratitude for the County Board members and the taxpayers who support it.  Thank you.

In 2007, my sister was able to move into an Adult Family Home, Regent Manor, in West Salem, also run by Lakeview Health Center.  She lived there for five and a half very happy years.  As at Lakeview Health Center, she received outstanding care.  (This person’s family member then listed by name many staff at both Lakeview Health Center and Regent Manor who cared for her sister.)  All these individuals were always there for her providing support, understanding, and giving her loving care.  As I visited her and we worked together to give my sister the best life possible, we created bonds of trust and friendship I appreciate more than I can say.  And, to the staff, I have great admiration and respect for the work you do.  Thank you very much.  My sister died June 7, 2013.
