Department Of Natural Resources (DNR)

WISCONSIN
With few exceptions, all hunting and fishing licenses issued by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) are available to purchase in the County Clerk's office. Please note that Federal duck stamps can be purchased in the County Clerk's office and the stamps can be obtained from the United States Post Office.
You will need to provide your date of birth and one or more of the following:
  • DNR Customer ID number
  • Current Driver's License or State Identification (ID) Card
  • Social Security Number
  • Hunter's Safety Certificate Card (if you were born after January 1, 1973)
  • Previous hunting and/or fishing license
  • Proof that you are a Wisconsin resident
  • Annual licenses such as fishing, sports and small game expire March 31st of each year.
  • If an archery license is purchased after the season opens, there is a mandatory 3-day waiting period before the license is valid.

IOWA
Iowa hunting and fishing licenses are also sold in the County Clerk's office. Primarily we sell licenses for pheasant hunters and fishing. Not all Iowa hunting licenses are available for sale in our office.

You will need to provide your date of birth and one or more of the following:
  • DNR Customer ID number
  • Social Security Number
  • Hunter's Safety Certificate Card (if you were born after January 1, 1972)
  • Previous hunting and/or fishing license
  • Iowa licenses expire January 10th of each year. A license purchases after December 15th will expire one full year from the 10th of January.

REGISTERING RECREATIONAL VEHICLE INFORMATION

Not only can you purchase hunting and fishing licenses, but ATVs or UTVs, snowmobiles, and boats can be registered in the County Clerk's Office. Please bring the following information:
  • ATVs or UTVs
    • Make, Width, Weight, Engine size (cc), Number of wheels, Serial Number or WI registration number
    • If a change in ownership, the name of the person purchased from and amount paid is required.
  • Snowmobiles
    • Make, Width, Serial Number or WI registration number
    • If a change in ownership, the name of the person purchased from and amount paid is required.
  • Boats
    • Wisconsin registration number or Serial number/Hull ID number
      • The County Clerk's Office can only process boat renewals (owner's stayed the same), replacement decals, replacement registration cards, original or transfer boats if under 16' (no title).
  • You must use the on-line registration system, mail in an application or visit a DNR service location if the boat is greater than 16', transactions involving affidavits or estates, or if the registration transactions are in pending status.
