Sharps Collection Program
Household generated “Sharps” are accepted at the La Crosse County Hazardous Materials Facility FREE of charge from La Crosse County residents who treat themselves for medical conditions such as diabetes. (Business and out-of-county generated “Sharps” are accepted by appointment and for a fee.) Only the following are accepted:
**NO mercury-bearing waste (thermometers, button/hearing aid batteries), chemotherapy waste, solid waste, hazardous waste or other regulated medical waste should be included in the sharps container.** Procedure:
Business and non-resident users will need to pre-register, make an appointment, and pay $2 per pound for “Sharps” disposal.
