Tow boats have priority over
recreational boaters.

Do not anchor or drift in the
main channel or navigate too close to a tow boat.

When overtaking a tow, stay to
one side or the other and out of the turbulent wake, which can
flip a small craft.

Keep the pilot house in sight at
all times. If you see the pilot of the tow boat, he can
see you and you will avoid the large danger zone or blind spot
of the leading barges.
