La Crosse Jail Ministry responds
to inmate needs and also to the public's need to control jail costs.
The annual tax cost of incarceration exceeds $30,000 per inmate.
Jail Ministry spiritual direction and educational programs help
reduce both jail terms and the number of persons returning to jail,
thus saving many tax dollars. |

is supported by the United Way, area Churches, and private gifts.
No public taxes are used to support the La Crosse Jail Ministry. |
