PUBLIC HEARING

Charles Spiker, Committee Chair, called the Public Hearing to order at 1:30 PM.

 

Chairman Spiker read to the Commission Board members and guest the purpose of the meeting. The La Crosse County Aging Unit will hold a Public Hearing to review the Draft Application for the 2008 Specialized Transportation Assistance Program for La Crosse County (under s.85.21 of the Wisconsin Statutes). All persons interested in providing input for the Plan are invited to attend and to testify. The 2008 Draft Aging Plan will be on display at the County Aging unit, Room 2260 of the County Administrative Building. Written comments should be sent to the County Aging Unit and will be accepted for the record.

Chairman Spiker requested that Noreen Kuroski review the Draft Application for the 2008 Specialized Transportation Assistance Program for La Crosse County (Under s.85.21 of the Wisconsin Statutes). Noreen Kuroski reported the s.85.21 application is for the Mini Bus & Volunteer Driver Program. A rate increase is included in the 2008 application.

 

Noreen Kuroski recommended a one-way rate increase for the Mini Bus as follows:

Zone 1 - $2.00 to $2.50   Zone 2 -  $3.00 and Zone 3 - $3.50.

 

Chairman Spiker requested the speaker to give their name and address for the record.

Andrea Hansen commented that transportation is a high priority and commended the County Aging Unit for their initiatives towards this ongoing process. 

 

Chairman Spiker along with the Commission Board members thanked Andrea Hansen for her comments.

 

Chairman Spiker closed the Public Hearing at 1:35 PM.

 

The County Commission on Aging Board members reconvened to their regular meeting.
