DEVELOP A PROCESS FOR CLIENT NOTIFICATION WHEN THERE IS AN ACTIVE WARRANT
There is somewhat of a disconnect of when and how to tell people if there is a warrant, apprehension request, order to detain, etc. If a client comes in to Justice Sanctions and they know there is a warrant, it was the decision of the group that there is no need to hold the person, but just call law enforcement informing them that the person is there. There is no expectation that JS needs to detain these clients but also do not proactively tell them there is a warrant. JS also will not be informed directly if there is a warrant.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE FOCUS GROUPS?
There has only been one LSI requested from a judge since this process was introduced. It was decided that we should hold off on the focus groups to see how this goes, and Jane will e-mail the judges as a reminder that the LSI is an option. Bill Hammes has put together data that separates misdemeanors and felonies. Jane will take a look at the misdemeanors we have completed LSI’s on and look at the sentencing. It was also decided that we go back and look at our LSI’s on bonds and see what the results were.
