CALL TO ORDER:

The meeting was called to order by Dean Ruppert at 1:00pm.

 

INTRODUCTIONS

The group including committee members, staff, and guests individually introduced themselves and offered background information for interest or involvement with the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Western Wisconsin Advisory Committee (ADRC of WW).  A census handout was provided. 

 

ADRC OVERVIEW

A PowerPoint presented by Peggy Herbeck was provided as a large overview of the ADRC of WW roles, responsibilities, and structure.  Handouts were provided. 

 

OVERVIEW OF COMMITTEE MEMBER ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Dean Ruppert discussed the Technical Assistance information bulletin for Aging and Disability Resource Center Governing Boards.  This discussion included board membership requirements, conflict of interest, operational duties, oversight duties, identifying unmet needs, and implementation.  A handout was provided. 

 

OPEN HOUSE PLANNING

Discussion regarding when to hold each county’s open house was held.  Ideas shared were holding the open house within the first week of roll out, waiting until all four counties are operating, or various other times, such as in conjunction with the county fair.  Jackson County would like to hold their open-house close to the roll-out on July 1st, 2008.  Vernon County would like to hold their open house on September 11th, 2008 during the Vernon County Fair at the Senior Center.  Local counties to think about the open house timing.    

 

Audra also provided the new ADRC of WW website:  www.adrcww.org.   

 

FUTURE MEETING SCHEDULE

ADRC of WW advisory committee meetings will be held every two months for the first year of operation.  These will be held on the fourth Tuesday of the month from 1:00pm – 3:00pm (except in December when we will adjust for the Holidays to the third week of the month).  These will be held at all four counties on a rotating basis.  The meeting schedule is as follows:

8/26/08 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Jackson County
10/28/08 1:00pm – 3:00pm Vernon County
12/16/08 1:00pm – 3:00pm  Monroe County
2/24/09 1:00pm – 3:00pm La Crosse County

 

An agenda will be sent out prior to the scheduled meeting.

Please call the ADRC of WW for further information, brochures, or any other questions or clarifications you may need.  The ADRC of WW is very willing and will be participating in outreach activities in all four partner counties. 

 

Next meeting:  Tuesday 8/26/08 1:00pm – 3:00pm at Jackson County.
