CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL

Steve Doyle, Committee Chair, called the meeting to order at 5:45 p.m. 

 

RESOLUTION RE ADOPTION OF CONTRACT FOR LOCAL 2484 PARA PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES and

RESOLUTION RE ADOPTION OF CONTRACT FOR LOCAL 2484 HUMAN SERVICES AND HEALTH PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES

Bob Taunt reviewed, noting the County Board discussed in closed session at their February meeting and gave direction to staff to negotiate the proposal of providing domestic partner benefits plus 2% wage increase.  Agreements were reached and ratified on March 19th with the two unions.  Attached to each resolution was a summary of major contract changes.  MOTION by Johnson/Burke to approve both resolutions and the related contract changes for years 2007 and 2008.  Supervisor Ehrsam asked how the unions voted.  Lee Germanson noted the Professionals voted 50 to 3 and the Para Professionals voted 38 to 25.  MOTION FAILED on 3 to 4 vote:  Johnson-yes, Burke-yes, Doyle-yes, Ehrsam-no, Geary-no, Hammes-no, Spiker-no; Meyer and Plesha excused.  Chairman Doyle noted that he would take both resolutions to the County Board as Minority Reports.

 

ADJOURNMENT

MOTION by Hammes/Geary to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried unanimously; Meyer and Plesha excused.  The meeting adjourned at 5:48 p.m.
